Northumberland Advisory Group

The Northumberland Advisory Group (NAG) formed in the spring of 2020 as a response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Key agencies directly involved with providing services to people experiencing homelessness recognized the opportunity to work together to identify the need for resources and to consider the distribution of homeless-related resources and funding.

The group designed and delivered new programs to support people during lockdown as many services were reduced. People experiencing homelessness faced many barriers accessing many services that became virtual only.

The group looked strategically at ways for agencies to work together and create partnerships to provide services. Their work covers areas including warming and respite locations, short term shelter facilities, food security initiatives, a transitional housing pilot and more.

The Northumberland Advisory Group is currently working on issues such as sustainability, new funding opportunities and responses to recovery.
