The Factory Co-Working Space
The Factory co-working space is a “mixed use” co-working location at the Business & Entrepreneurship Centre Northumberland for entrepreneurs and small business owners. The space offers a shared working environment, with several flexible work areas for entrepreneurs and self-employed individuals. See below for full eligibility.
The Factory is an initiative of the County of Northumberland, Economic Development Department managed and coordinated by the Business & Entrepreneurship Centre and supported by several community partners.
- The Factory provides innovative, collaborative and community driven workspaces that move beyond traditional work environments
- A physical space to meet the needs and demands of “work from home” entrepreneurs in Northumberland County
- An opportunity to escape the distractions of working from home, offering a fully functioning and resourceful space
- To give small businesses and start up businesses looking to transition out of their isolated work environments into a creative workspace that will increase working productivity
- Provides rural entrepreneurs with reliable high-speed internet
- Providing opportunities for business growth, expansion, and involvement in business community
- The co-working space will provide an opportunity for daily business-to-business engagement, professional support, and planning space
- Client membership brings sense of belonging, community, and networking with likeminded people

- Convenient access to the BECN services, programs, and advance information regarding programs and upcoming events
Eligible Use
- Small business owner/co-owner, or entrepreneur.
- Business is based in Northumberland County.
- Used as a casual working space performing regular administrative business functions.
- Client meetings.
Ineligible Use
- Not/non for profit organizations.
- Board meetings, associations, membership meetings, or self interest groups.
- Cannot be used as a permanent work location.
- Selling, or intent to sell “in person” to external parties (public/ clients, etc.) is not permitted from The Factory. You may use The Factory for informational, planning or service meetings with new and existing clients.
- Front BECN reception is not to be used to direct your clients / act as reception role. If meeting with a client, you are responsible for meeting them at the front entrance and providing directions.
Fees
1-Year Membership
$125.00 + tax (subject to change).
Day use drop-in fee
$20.00 per day, per person (subject to change).
